March 26

All the structural basement walls are built.  The window and door rough openings are framed and the beams to support the decking for the main floor are in place.  The longest spans are 21 feet of 11 7/8 inch by 5 1/2  inch LVL (plywood).  The beams were not light but they are now in place.  We have similar beams for the loft and roof which may prove to be impossible without some help.  The next delivery of lumber will be early next week.  We hope to have used up almost all of the first load by then.  The road has been tested by 2 days of rain and the delivery of the roof trusses.  No problem.  It looks like we won't need to worry about the weather when scheduling future deliveries.  That is a welcome change.
