Ground breaking on Sep. 30, 98 Alan at the controls of the trackhoe Basement hole half done.

We started building the house today.  Ground was broken at about 10:00am and the cellar hole was complete by 4:00 pm. The crew today included Oral Carper, Tim and Danny.  We will use the heavy equipment to improve the roads tomorrow then that type of operation will be done for a while.  We will need to resurvey the site to make sure the foundation forms will be square, set the forms for the footings and pour them.  We are excited that the house is finally started.

Forms for footings being set Note the strawbosses on the hill The first pour

We now feel as if we are really on our way with a good footing thanks to the crew of Joe Blevins, Dick, Tim, and Boo.  Also our strawbosses Jessie, Roy and Nathan (neighbors)

The wall forms going in Another view Lunch time

<>The crew hasn't been working for the past few days.  Joe's truck was having brake problems so they didn't have any way to deliver the forms.  Today we got about half of the outside forms set.  We expect to pour part of the wall this week.
