This inn opened on route 7 and 32 just north of Sandy Hook, not far from Laurel Gorge. The Extension office hosted a group from the University of Kentucky who were helping our County prepare a plan for economic development. After looking at what our area has to offer they agreed that we were on the right path. The group recommended that we continue to work toward showing off the folk art, crafts and natural beauty of the area. As part of their visit we went to a few of the locations in the County that will help with that goal so we all got a tour of this marvelous new facility.
The inn
was great.
The rooms were large and nicely
decorated. This one has a kitchenette. They also
have a
room
specially outfitted for guests who may be handicapped.
They plan to display
pictures, folk art and
crafts from
the area, some of which will be for sale. Samples of the area's rich
musical
heritage will also be available. Of course they will help you
find
the places or artists in the county that you may be looking for during
your visit to Sandy Hook, Elliott County, Kentucky.
