Other flowers and trees
A Flame tree, Royal Poinciana (Delonix regia)
We saw this one in a park near the stone tower in the old part of the city.

Parrot Flower (Heliconia)

Bouganvillea

Hibscus

Gardenia

Allamanda

Hot Lips (Psychotria poeppigiana)
Their flowers are not red.
The red structures are bracts.
Tiny white flowers will emerge in the center.
A trick question is what color are poinsettia flowers.
The correct answer is yellow the red "pedals" are again bracts.

We saw this Flame of the woods (Ixora coccinea) in a hotel garden.
It is not originally from Panama but rather native to Southern India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
This may well be Firebush (Hamelia patens)
I can't be sure since I didn't get any leaves in my shot.

Vinca

Here are a few more that I haven't been able to identify. If you can send me a note. I will update the page with credit to you.
