It
was an overcast day with the wind quartering from behind us which
made paddling difficult. Some fishermen cleaning their catch
attracted seagulls. Along the way
The Yellow Warblers we saw here were
very comfortable with us.
Finches. These may be Small
Ground Finches or Sharp Beaked Ground
Finches Frigate Birds Brown Pelicans Sea lions were common on the beach by
our camp.
Camp was set up when we arrived.
We took a boat out to Wolf Island.
There are several fissures through the island that provide a
relatively safe place for snorkeling. This Green Sea Turtle was one
of the first animals we encountered.
Here
is a spotted eagle ray and green sea turtle we saw moments later.
Here are a few of the sharks from
that trip. Nearly all of these are white tip
sharks. We also saw black tip (you may be
able to see them in this video) and
silky sharks, sorry none of those in this video.
While we
were at Wolf Island swimming with the sharks and enjoying the turtles
and rays this sea lion checked up on us.
Later we were snorkeling nearer our
camp.
We met up with some playful sea lions. You can see they (lions or
group) show no fear.
Occasionally
you will just be swimming along minding your own business and something
like this happens.

Our captain let Silverpaw pilot the
boat on the return trip.
This sea lion didn't want us to go up
the ramp when we got back to port. There was another one under the ramp
as well.
