Our
ship, the Summit
We
departed from Puerto Rico
The pilot boat showed
the captain the
way.
Lifeboat drill required
for all hands.
As we left the harbor we
got a great
view of El
Castillo San
Felipe del Morro in old San Juan.
A closer view shows the
lighthouse
that marked the entrance of the port.
And as our ship rounded
the point we
got this view.
Then five days at sea en
route to
Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
Thalassatherapy and
regular old pools
to enjoy.
Views from our cabin
porthole and
directly down through a window in the floor of the dining room.
Any kind of food you
could imagine
was available.
And all of it good.
Our cabin.
We could monitor our
progress on the
TV.
Sunsets, the first as we
left Puerto
Rico the other at sea.
Dramatic clouds over the
ship.
The conservatory was a
quiet place to
hang out.
Artwork decorated the
lobbies and
stairways.
Finally we were in port
again.
We were surprised to see
this guy
outside the cabin window in Tenerife.
This view from above of
the tanker
that was refueling our ship shows the reason why.
Ice carvings decorated
the dining
areas.
The last full day at sea
we were
treated to a desert extravaganza.
No way could you sample
everything.
But we tried.
